Over the past two years we have had the privilege of visiting Gospel Center Böblingen on several occasions. We were there again on 20 September to preach at a service. We enjoy being in this church very much. Pastor Helmut and Lydia Stäbler are leading a growing church there. Cornelius & Priscilla Baier are assistants there, both ETS graduates. It is wonderful to see God working in Germany.
Rodney celebrated his 54th birthday on 16 September. He received many wonderful notes and gifts from the students and staff. The staff had some delicious cake with him at a morning break. One of our students, Giovanna Colacci, made two cakes, a chocolate on chocolate and a coconut cake with raspberries. These are Rodney’s favorites and we appreciate her work in preparing them.
Rosalie Suarez did such an outstanding job as my co-worker and secretary the past two years. I appreciate all that she did. She has moved on to be a graduate student here. Now my secretary this year will be Petra Fridrich, whose photo you see here. I thank God for her as well, and I am looking forward to being a co-worker with Petra this year. Petra is a second-year student at ETS.
Carol had a wonderful birthday on 11 September. We celebrated with friends and colleagues at ETS. The students were not back yet from summer break. She is happy to be back working in the ETS library as we prepare for another year at the European Theological Seminary in Germany.
The new school year began 14 September with the upper-level students returning for two weeks of intensive Greek language classes. It is good to see them again and to hear how their summers of ministry and vacation went. Please pray for the new school year. The first-year students arrive next week. The full schedule of classes begin on 28 September.
We arrived safely back in Germany on Saturday, 5 September, after a summer of itineration in America. We are eager to start a new school year at the European Theological Seminary and return to our church, Crossroads International Church. Most of all, we are eager to see the people we love here. We appreciate all in America who pray and financially support us.
