After itinerating in America since 1 June, we reached our final service of the summer on 30 August in Pace, Florida, at Covenant Church of God. This church has been a faithful partner with us since 2006, and we appreciate them very much. Pastor Mark Todd, and his wife, Jayne, are leading what will certainly continue to be an influential church for the Gospel, because of their vision and passion for people.
We visited Elkton, Maryland, at the top of the Chesapeake Bay on Sunday, 16 August. Pastor Calvin Woodring pastors the Elkton Church of God Praise and Worship Center. They have supported us since we began as missionaries in 1989. Pastor Woodring emphasizes that we all have a personal responsibility to share Christ with our family and friends, but we must never forget our responsibility to those beyond our home area.
We returned for the weekend to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Rodney’s home, and stayed with Rodney’s cousin, David & Darlene Clopper, on their farm in Denton. On Saturday, 15 August, Rodney’s extended family of aunts, cousins, and their children, and grandchildren, came to the farm for a traditional steamed crab feast with fresh Silver Queen corn and cantaloupes. It was wonderful to see them again and the crabs were pretty good, too!!
We made our last journey this summer of itineration to New England for a service on 9 August in Rochester, New Hampshire, at Safe Harbor Christian Fellowship. Pastor Nancy Downing and the church folk have supported us faithfully. It was great to meet them and worship God together. Without partners in American churches we cannot minister in Europe and we appreciate all of you.
We enjoyed a service at Family Worship Center Church of God in Augusta, Maine, on 2 August. It was wonderful to see the ones we love and pastored for seven years. Pastor Kevin and Heather McAllister have led the church since 2006. We are encouraged to see how the people are serving God, and we appreciate their support of our mission work.
