THIRD JUNE TRIP TO MICHIGAN

June 30th, 2009 | 0 Comments

Pastor & Sister Sparre 003Our itineration in June ended on the 28th with our third visit and missions service in Michigan this summer. We were at the Family Worship Center Church of God in Clinton Township which is pastored

by Lee Sparre. It was exciting to see a family of five baptized in water to start the service. This church is concerned about souls. We appreciate their partnership in missions.

IMG_1524Sunday, 21 June, found us back in Maine, where we pastored  for seven years. We visited the Royal Ridge Church of God in Scarborough for a missions service. Pastor Brian & Lori Wade pastor this very missions-minded church. Regional bishop for Northern New England Bobby Scott was also there. It was exciting to see their real interest in missions and evangelizing their city. Rodney enjoyed the great Father’s day gift of a Dunkin Donut gift card.

Sweet!

mcclung2On Wednesday, 17 June, we spoke at the Missions prayer group at Westmore Church of God in Cleveland, TN. We are grateful for this group led by Grant & Janice McClung who have faithfully prayed for so many of us missionaries over the years. It was wonderful to pray with them and share what God is doing in Europe and at ETS.

IMG_1506 It was great to return to Carol’s home church of Faith Temple Church of God in Madison Heights, Michigan, for a service on 14 June. Rodney served there on the ministerial staff for nine years. Pastor L. S. Sexton has done a great job ministering here over the past six years. To see long-time friends and meet new ones was a pleasure for us. We stayed with our niece, Wanda Edgerton, and enjoyed that so much. God blessed us with His Presence in the service. We appreciate so very much the continued support of this church.

RETURN TO MICHIGAN

IMG_1505We began our summer itineration services 7 June in Fort Gratiot, Michigan, at Riverside Tabernacle Church of God. Richard L. Shelton is pastor there. It was 20 years ago this summer that we visited this church as missionaries for the first time. We look much older, but the fire for what we are doing still burns as it did then. It was good to be back in Carol’s home state again. Carol grew up in Ferndale, Michigan, a northern suburb of Detroit.
