LAST SERVICE FOR THE SUMMER

May 25th, 2009 | 0 Comments

I was the preacher for the final service at Crossroads International Church here in Kniebis, Germany, May 24, before leaving for Summer itineration in America on June 1. I am privileged to serve as co-pastor of this church. Each Summer, the ETS faculty who are US missionaries, must return to raise support for ourselves to remain on the field. This also includes Benson & Cathy Vaughan and Blayne & Angie Waltrip. Pray for us as we leave our home here to return to America. I preached about the Holy Spirit and there was a good response in the altar. Thank God for this.

CLASSES END & DAUGHTER’S GRADUATION

May 19th, 2009 | 0 Comments

Spring semester classes ended today, 19 May. Now we have final exams next week. This week will be filled with a cleaning day, legal holiday, and reading day (exam preparation). Carol and I made a trip over the weekend to Bangor, Maine, to watch our daughter graduate from Eastern Maine Community College with a nursing degree. She completed her three years and did very well. It was a quick trip from Europe, but worth being proud of Leslie. She and her husband, James, will move to Los Angeles on 25 May. She will soon take her California exams to be licensed as a registered nurse. Carol remained in America for the next two weeks as I complete the semester in Germany. Then I will return to America on 1 June to begin itineration during the summer months, and be reunited with Carol.

EXEGESIS IN ISAIAH

May 5th, 2009 | 0 Comments

The Spring semester is nearing a conclusion at ETS. I have really enjoyed the exegesis course in Isaiah with the second and third level students. We have been in the Servant Songs sections the past few classes, and I myself am constantly refreshed as I return to old familiar passages about our Lord. The New Testament Backgrounds and Survey class with the first level students has also been a joy to me. Studying God’s Word never grows old!
