ETS CHAPEL

October 25th, 2008 | 0 Comments

Wednesday, October 22, I was privileged to preach at the ETS weekly chapel. One of our Master degree groups was in this week also. Our times to worship God in chapel, devotions, or other settings are the most important times of our week. The students lead the worship time, and we usually have visiting preachers for chapel. Occasionally the faculty or students preach.

2008 ETS GRADUATION

graduation08.jpg God blessed us with a lovely Fall day on October 19 for the graduation ceremonies. 22 graduated with the Bachelor of Theology degree, one with a Diploma in Church Ministries, and one with the Foundations Course. These represented five nations: Germany, Austria, Latvia, Spain, and the USA. Many others graduated from extension schools. We thank God for each of them and their future minstry. One of the graduates, Rebeca Kurz, preached a sermon. The choir led by Sasa Radovanovic did great.

sinsheim_church_of_god.jpg After a youth service Saturday night, we were up early Sunday morning, October 12, driving north to Sinsheim, Germany. Pastor Eberhard Wirth leads this church, and we enjoyed our visit. I preached with the interpreting done by Andreas Waidler, one of our ETS students who attends there. Again we thank God for helping us and ministering to people. Pray for Germany!

KINGDOM SEEKERS

October 14th, 2008 | 0 Comments

About 200 youth attended a service called Kingdom Seekers at the ETS chapel on Saturday, October 11. It is sponsored by our local church in Kniebis. It is wonderful to see these youth worshiping God, led by an outstanding church and seminary worship team. I was the evening preacher, and God ministered to many from hearing testimonies afterwards. I am surely not the typical youth speaker, but I surely do care about them and love them. God does the rest.

BRUSSELS LEADERSHIP MEETING

brussels_leadership_meeting.jpg The Church of God leaders from Western Europe and the Middle East gathered in Brussels, Belgium, and the New Jerusalem Church for a leadership and ministers meeting over the weekend, October 3-5. It was led by our field director, Dr. Larry Hess, and was attended by many national leaders. A delgation from the European Theological Seminary went. It was good to meet, fellowship, and worship with colleagues from these nations. We are excited about what God is doing in our area of the world.

NEW SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS

October 2nd, 2008 | 0 Comments

The Fall semester at ETS got under way for all students on Monday, 29 September. The upper levels had already been in a two-week intensive Hebrew language course. We are excited about our students and, most of all, about our God. It is a privilege to serve them, and we ask for your prayers during the school year.
