INSTALLED AS ASSISTANT PASTOR

September 29th, 2008 | 0 Comments

assistantpastors.jpg The Church of God German national overseer, Rev. Erich Schneider, preached in our local church, Crossroads International Church, on Sunday, September 28. While here, he officially commissioned us as the assistant pastor, called co-paster in Germany. We are working under a great pastor, Jivko Jeliazkov. We thank God for the privilege to serve these people, as well as in the seminary. Please pray for us as we undertake this responsibility.

BACK HOME IN GERMANY

We arrived back in Germany on September 18, and were glad to be back home. God blessed us with a good seven weeks of itinerating to raise support in America. It was great to see family, friends, and many of our supporters in the churches we were able to visit. Of course the birth of our new grandson on August 28 was a highlight for us. We are eagerly awaiting the start of the Fall semester on Sept. 29. Please pray for a great year at ETS.

FLORIDA PAN HANDLE

September 7 found us in Pace, Florida, near Pensacola. I spoke at a service at Covenant Church of God, pastored by Mark & Jane Todd. Covenant is one of our top supporting churches, and we thank God for their faithful partnership. We were excited to see their enthusiasm for God and what God is doing there. God has helped us to have many wonderful partners in missions, and we thank God for all of them.

HOME CHURCH VISIT

homechurchvisit_pastor.jpg Sunday evening, 31 August, we visited Rodney’s home town and church in Easton, Maryland. Pastor Keith Maxwell pastors the Easton Church of God. He is a real man of prayer and vision, and the church is growing greatly under his leadership and by God’s grace. It was great to see many family and life-long friends, and to see what God is doing there. The Holy Spirit blessed the service with His presence. There was a wonderful time of fellowship afterwards. This church is one of our top supporters, while also being involved in a building project. God blesses churches who have His heart and obey His Great Commission. I am proud to be a home boy from Easton.

Delaware and Old Friends

On 31 August, we were in Laurel, Delaware, for the morning service at Victory Tabernacle Church of God. Old friends with whom we served on a church staff in Michigan many years ago, C. Stacey and Cindy Johnson, pastor this church. The church is doing really well and beginning a building program. Still they love missions and give generously, and they are presently our top supporting church. We thank God for churches like this that look past their own needs to fulfilling the Great Commission overseas.
