New Grandson

August 28th, 2008 | 0 Comments

Our son, Daniel, and his wife, Michelle, became parents to a son born 28 August in St. Petersburg, Florida. His name is Brandon Michael Friend, and he weighed in at 7 pounds 5 ounces. He was 19 inches long. He has a head full of dark, curly hair and chubby cheeks. We are excired about God’s blessing. Brandon joins his older brother, Jordan, as our second grandson. We were privileged to be with his happy parents for his birth.

God’s Presence in Florida

August 28th, 2008 | 0 Comments

God blessed us with His presence and help on 24 August at Harvest Temple in Indian Rocks, FL. We were there for a missions service in the morning, and God spoke to many hearts about a commitment to prayer. Pastor Randy Morris leads this dedicated congregation who faithfully support us and other missionaries. We are privileged to be their partners in missions ministry.

Maine Weekend

While visiting our daughter, Leslie, and her husband, James, we had two services in Maine on 17 August. In the morning, we were in Augusta at Family Worship Center. We pastored this church for 7 years, and it was good to see beloved folks there. Pastor Kevin McAllister is doing a great job. In the evening we were in Belfast at Faith Temple Church of God, pastored by Charles Hall. It means much to us to have these churches support us so faithfully in prayer and giving.

International General Assembly

August 12th, 2008 | 0 Comments

We flew to the USA on August 1, and attended a very encouraging pre-Assembly world missions conference. It is always great to see our missions colleagues from around the world. The assembly itself in San Antonio was also uplifting, and we are very happy to see Douglas LeRoy and Victor Pagan as our general directors of missions. We were happy to see many friends and supporters from around the USA. We will be visiting our daughter, Leslie, and her husband, James, next week in Maine. While there we will visit two churches: Family Worship Center in Augusta, and Faith Temple Church of God in Belfast.
