Carol went with me on the recent trip to minister in Sicily. It was her first visit to Italy and we enjoyed visiting with many people and seeing the three pastors of churches in Palermo. We have included some of the lovely scenes on the website for you to enjoy.
An ETS graduate, Stefano Cannioto, leads a fine Bible school in Palermo, Sicily, Italy. I taught there each night from 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. the week of February 18-22, 2008. It was a great week discussing the Pastoral Epistles. On the Thursday night, I also taught a mid-week Bible study at the church from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. It was wonderful being back in Italy with the wonderful people of Sicily.
Carol and I left for Palermo, Sicily, on Sunday, February 17, 2008. The seminary was on a semester break, and we went to Italy where I taught for a week on the Pastoral Epistles. We arrived at 9:25 A.M. and went straight to the church service where Carmelo DiMarco pastors. I preached and many responded for prayer in the altar time. It has been ten years since I last visited this church, and it was wonderful to see how it has grown to about 300 people. Pastor DiMarco and his staff have done a great job with God’s help.
On Saturday, February 16, 2008, I was teaching for the second month in the German minsterial training program (ILD) class that meets at the European Theological Seminary. We have classes from 10 to 5, and currently we are discussing the Pastoral Epistles. The group of students are good learners and you can see their smiling faces in the photo.
The first semester ended today on Feb. 1, and now the final exams will be given next week. God blessed us with a great semester, and we thank God for His help. Last Sunday I preached at the church in Kniebis, Crossroads International Church. This Sunday, Feb. 3, we will be going to Böblingen to preach. My secretary and student, Rosalie Suarez, will be going with us to translate the sermon. She is one example of the many fine young people who attend ETS.
