Second Week in Germany

September 24th, 2007 | 0 Comments

The settling process continues. We have arranged a bank account, registered with the government, signed up to get our garbage bins and paid the fee for that, checked into the required papers to get a visa, continue to wait on money clearance to get a car, led the Thursday night prayer meeeting at Crossroads International Church, and patiently wait on our shipment to arrive from America containing warmer clothes.  The days have been warmer this week as compared to the first week’s frosty mornings, so we thank God for that.  It is wonderful to get to know new people in both the seminary and church. We still have details such as arranging to pay for electricity, getting phone service which will allow internet at home, car insurance, visas, and German driving licenses. God is helping us.

Arrival In Germany

September 13th, 2007 | 4 Comments

We departed from America on September 9, and arrived in Kniebis, Germany on the evening of September 10. We were warmly welcomed and we felt immediately at home. We have spent the first week signing our contract for an apartment, shopping for a car and furniture, and sharing a devotion at the church on Thursday. Classes begin October 1, and students begin arriving this weekend. They gave Carol a wonderful 50th birthday party on September 11 with the staff and a few students who are here.

Tampa Conference

September 8th, 2007 | 0 Comments

We enjoyed a full day at the opening of the weekend missions conference at University Church of God in Tampa, FL, on September 7. The local missions committee really put much work into making it a meaningful day for the church and over 20 missionaries. Pastor Tony Stewart has a great heart for missions, and the members share his vision. In the evening service the praise team, led by Sis. Stewart, and the choir did an outstanding job. Molly Cox, the misssions pastor, has developed a great team to emphasize missions.
